A good turn out for the first pre-season training. We were in a new (and hard-to-find) location and it was quite warm so well done and thanks to all who came along.
The next session will be at Sprowston Cricket Club on Thursday 3 July at 6.30pm. Sadly there are no big slopes at Sprowston...it being a cricket ground that is not Lords or indeed Sherbourn-in-Elmet (that may not be the spelling or indeed the place but I can still recall clearly some place in Yorkshire where there was a step in the outfield so pronounced that you could only see the caps of the fielders at long on and long off if you were anywhere behind square. I can also remember a bloke called Sheridan who went in at number three and hit so many successive sixes into the river that they had to stop play. He had no teeth and looked like he was fashioned out of teak. I went with my dad to this game. We were camping and my brother had fallen out of a tree rendering himself semi-conscious and unable to walk. He was making so much noise we decided to leave him in tent and find something more interesting to do. We returned to discover all the corned beef gone and some unusual stains on the groundsheet.)
Anyway enough of this homo-erotic nonsense. Get along to the next session and we'll have some more fun.
Special thanks to those who came along and helped out despite injuries or in Pug's case lingering self-doubt.
